Win Streak to Lose Streak Kings Drop Another - 2007-03-17

The Yakama Sun Kings lost their second straight game, falling to the host-Albany Patroon, 103-98(5,2). Yakama’s overall mark dropped to 32-11 on the season and their road record fell to 12-8. It was the first time during the 2006-2007 season Yakama has lost two straight road games and only the second time all season that the Sun Kings have lost two consecutive games.

Ralph Holmes led six Sun Kings in double figures with 19 points while Elvin Mims scored 16 points. Galen Young and rookie Jason Forte each had 14 points while Greg Stevenson and Chris Alexander scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Young pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds for his 14th double-double of the season while Holmes and Mims grabbed seven boards each. Young’s seven assists were also a team-high and matched Albany’s total and Eddy Barlow added six helpers. The Sun Kings outshot the Patroons from the field, 45.5%-44.9% and won the battle of the
boards, but shot only 20 free throws (making 16) to 40 for Albany (made 27). Yakama was whistled for 32 fouls to only 23 for the Patroons.
